NAGASAKI, Japan — Huis Ten Bosch, a Dutch-inspired resort in Japan, plans to spend as much as hundreds of millions of dollars to help turn itself and the surrounding area into a top domestic and international tourist destination, according to the park’s new president.

“Our aim is to boost over the next five years Huis Ten Bosch’s fundamental strengths as a theme park,” said Kotaro Takamura, who took the helm of the resort in October after a stint at Tokyo Disney Resort operator Oriental Land.
